Meet Our Head Chef – Alfredo López Castillo
From the vibrant streets of Veracruz, Mexico, to the world's biggest kitchens, Alfredo López Castillo brings over a decade of international culinary experience to Tatavu Grill & Bar. Having led kitchens in Mexico City, Dubai, and now Fiji, Alfredo specializes in Mexican and Latin American cuisines, blending bold flavors with fresh, local ingredients. Drawing on this knowledge, Alfredo passionately curates globally-inspired modern dining in Fiji.
Alfredo's culinary journey is marked by creativity and precision—he's the winner of the 2023 Innovator Incubator Cook-off, a proud highlight that reflects his commitment to sustainability and honoring local communities. He's also collaborated with the Williams Racing culinary team in Formula 1, mastering high-pressure service without compromising quality. As one of the most respected restaurants in Fiji, Tatavu strives for experiential dining, and Alfredo is shaping that reality.
Leading a dynamic team of 18, he crafts seasonal menus that celebrate Fiji's natural bounty, elevate dining experiences, and delight every guest. Passionate about teamwork, innovation, and creating unforgettable moments through food, he invites you to taste the story behind every dish.
We've had lunch here twice and both times the food has been amazing. The atmosphere of Tatavu is unlike any other - your feet will touch sand as you're having lunch or dinner. The view is incredible, with the ocean just a few metres away. And you won't be short of entertainment, as there's live music every night.

We enjoyed tatavu restaurant for lunch and dinner during our stay at the Sheraton Resort. It was an absolute delight and the staff were so polite, kind and helpful. Night one we arrived late and Tatavu was the only restaurant open. At first we were worried about the price seeing as it is a beachfront restaurant however, we shared a whole chicken with a side of fries - and all for a very reasonable price. A perfect way to start our holiday. We then enjoyed their chicken quesadillas for lunch and that was absolutely amazing.
Most importantly the staff - especially Sikeli who remembered us from lunch til dinner and gave us the best service ever! His bubbly personality and kind heart just made our stay and visit to the restaurant go from 10/10 to 11/10. He is a true genuine soul. All the staff at the restaurant looked after us so well - couldn't fault them.

Romantic Anniversary Dinner
Wonderful atmosphere with great live music ! We had a lovely meal - can highly recommend the crab bisque followed by Lamb cutlets 👍🏻 we also had Joeli as our waiter - what a great guy ! Very attentive ! A big asset to Tatavu and Sheraton...
